Embarrassing Boating Error
This was found when sourcing the inter- net for something different to add to the Ski Rope this month.
I thought it was rather funny and so thought I’d share it with this months Ski Rope.
Apparently the little story below is true.
Last summer, down on Lake Isabella, lo- cated in the high desert, an hour east of Bakersfield, California, some folks, new to boating, were having a problem. No matter how hard they tried, they couldn’t get their brand new 22 ft. Bayliner boat to perform. It wouldn’t plane at all, and it was very sluggish in almost every ma- noeuvre, no matter how much power was applied.
After about an hour of trying to make it go, they putted over to a nearby marina, thinking someone there could tell them what was wrong. A thorough topside check revealed everything in perfect working order. The engine ran fine, the outdrive went up and down, the prop was the correct size and pitch.
So, one of the marina guys jumped in the water to check underneath. He came up choking on water, he was laughing so hard.
REMEMBER, THIS IS TRUE…..
Under the boat, still strapped securely in place, was the trailer. 🙂
Mmmm wouldn’t want to be them haha- ha.
Have you ever done anything like this that I could add to the Ski Rope?
If you have please email me the story with/ without pictures and I will add it. You don’t have to say who you are or give any details that would give away your identity but it would be worth the read.
So please dig deep for those stories you might have even forgotten about…I’m sure they would be funny and worth a read.
