Sinking Ship
Ah a holiday…on a house boat…with speed- boat attached. Sounds like an ideal relaxing and yet fun holiday with friends doesn’t it. Cruis’n down the river, taking in the views, stopping to go for a ski. BBQ’s on the deck, drinking the night away and partying like there is no one around to hear it. Ah yep sounds ideal alright…
Well things don’t always go so smoothly.
What started out to be the best laid plans for their holiday on a house boat tuned out to be anything but when the speedboat, which was being towed by the houseboat started to sink.
The holiday started with a bunch of friends making plans to spend a holiday on a house boat. They planned it all out and thought it would be a good idea to take the speedboat to get in an extra bit of skiing etc.
Then the best laid plans went to ruin when suddenly the boat started to sink.
I can only laugh at the look on the faces they would have had when they first noticed that
the boat was sinking…(I’m sure they would laugh now too). However at the time I’m sure there was no laughing going on. Pure panic, shock, thoughts of “OMG its sinking” and “How the hell are we going to get that up”.
After the initial shock a plan was formulat- ed as to how to get the boat out of the wa- ter and to retrieve the items that were floating away from the boat.
As you can see from the photo’s that the boat was eventually rescued and that it was only made possible by some serious hard work.
I don’t know the full story of how they got it out but someone out there might. If you do please let me know. Also unfortunately we don’t know what the name of the boat that was sinking is either but again some- one out there might.
I am told that other then this incident the holiday was a huge success, enjoyed by all that attended!
