Happy 50th Birthday Sharon
On the 27th of August 2011, Sharon Stewart (Copi Caretaker) celebrated her 50th Birthday.
Sharon was joined by family and friends from far and wide and also by some of our Speedboat Club members. However what made this birthday special was that 4 of her 5 children (Lisa, Michael, Belinda and Tim) attended and bought with them their partners (Lisa’s husband Allan, and Tim’s partner Lucy) and beautiful grandchildren (Amelia and Gordon). Unfortunately Sharon and Andrews eldest child (Rebecca) was unable to attend.
The party took place in the Copi Hollow Clubrooms with a quick visit from the Menindee police who wished Sharon a happy birthday. Sharon and her family catered for the party serving an amazing Roast Meal and yummy deserts.
Half way through the night Andrew made a speech on behalf of the seemingly embarrassed Sharon and thanked the family and friends for making the trip to come and celebrate with her. They also thanked the Speedboat Club for the use of the premises, thanked Rickie Cooper, Tracey and Chris Barker and John Hiscock for helping out on the night with serving, cleaning up and doing bar duties and then Andrew went on to thank Peter Spratt for kindly undertaking the caretakers role while they enjoyed a short break with their family. After the speeches Sharon cut her birthday cake (made by her son-in-law Allan) then everyone sang Happy Birthday in an out of tune and disorderly sort of way.
Music and lights set the atmosphere DJ’d by 2 Dadz, DJ’s Jamie Liddell and Dean Pinnuck. Jamie and Dean had everybody up and dancing including Andrews niece (Little Jamie) who has never danced at a party before. Sharon let her hair down and danced the night away with a variety of her guests including getting in a dance or two with all her children and her grandchildren. Little Amelia wowed the crowd with her adorable little dance moves and both grandchildren enjoyed the company of the Copi Kidz.
Sharon and Andrews family and friends have really enjoyed their stay at Copi Hollow saying that they will come back to stay again. Some of the family were lucky enough to be able to extend their stay and enjoy the beauty and lifestyle that is Copi Hollow.
On behalf of the Committee and members of the Broken Hill Speedboat Club we would like to wish Sharon a Happy Birthday.
