2011 New Years Eve
Yet another year has passed and in true Copi fashion it was seen out with everyone having a roaring good time!!
The day started with everyone on the boats for a spot of water sports, on the beach for the socialising and in the water to cool off. By late afternoon there was a buzz in the air as boats were taken out of the water and the people readied themselves for a night of dancing, socialising and fun.
And the evening did not disappoint!
Our resident DJ’s Jamie Liddell and Dean Pinnuck created the atmosphere in an open air style concert catering to a crowd which aged from approximately 2 years old right up to approximately 85 years young.
The party took place near the boat ramp where the coloured lights from the DJ box lit up the sky and created an array of coloured patterns on the ground.
Young at heart and young in height danced the night away while others simply enjoyed the music and or conversations with friends around the tables and chairs which were set up around the lawn.
Suddenly a loud bang announced the arrival of fireworks. The fireworks lit up the night sky in a spectacular show of colour and sound. The fireworks proved popular with everyone except the odd few who were scared by the noise they make.
After the fireworks, dancing resumed with the crowd showing even more gusto (or just their inebriated second wind). The huge crowd came together with Wayne Slater once again wowing the crowd with his now signature moves “the shuffle” and “the worm”.
There were other smaller gatherings around the park where people preferred to stay away from the crowd and loud music, but all were festive and everyone seemed to have an enjoyable night.
Once again the people that make Copi Hollow, “Copi Hollow” showed the community spirit that makes it the fantastic place it is.
